The Mets could be in the market for a top-of-the-line starter, but they won't part with outfielder Angel Pagan to acquire one.

New York isn't expected to trade any major league regular for a starting pitcher.

Pagan has started in place of the injured Carlos Beltran and the Mets view him as a valuable backup in the outfield.
