Mets pitcher John Maine may need an additional rehab start after his latest outing on Friday night.

New York manager Jerry Manuel also said Maine could pitch out of the bullpen upon his return, but didn't issue a final decision.

"I don't know yet," Manuel said.

If Maine moves right back into the rotation, the Mets are expected to put Hisanori Takahashi back in the bullpen.
