Yankees manager Joe Girardi is hoping that third baseman Alex Rodriguez will be ready to play by Tuesday.

He missed his second consecutive game on Sunday as New York swept Houston.

"My hope is that we have him on Tuesday," said Girardi, whose team will have Monday off.

Rodriguez had an MRI on Friday that revealed tendinitis in his right hip flexor.
