Mike Stanton's arrival means less playing time for Cameron Maybin.

Maybin, the opening-day center fielder, will be used off the bench with Stanton starting in right, right-fielder Cody Ross shifted to center and Chris Coghlan playing left.

"It's a situation where I'm just happy to be here and learn," Maybin said.

"I'll just have to work extra hard during batting practice and try to stay sharp and stay ready."
