The Pirates have promoted pitcher Brad Lincoln to start against the Nationals on Wednesday night.

Pittsburgh also promoted outfielder Jose Tabata.

Lincoln will make his major league debut for the Pirates one day after Washington's Stephen Strasburg struck out 14 batters in his debut on Tuesday night.
