Phillies starter Cole Hamels took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, but the Padres ended his bid and came out on top.
Hamels gave up three hits and two runs in eight innings as San Diego won 3-2.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can and give us an opportunity," Hamels said. "Eventually, it'll pay off."
