The Orioles are expected to fire manager Dave Trembley before they begin a weekend series against the Red Sox on Friday.

The Baltimore Sun was the first to report the story.

The team was swept by the Yankees on Thursday.

A club official declined comment on the story and Orioles president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail did not join the team on the trip to New York.
