Rangers designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero injured his left eye during batting practice before Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

He hit a ball that ricocheted off the top of the cage and struck him above the left eye.

X-rays taken at a hospital showed no structural damage and Guerrero said that he could have pitch-hit against Chicago had he been needed.
