Tim Salmon appreciates the loud ovations he's received before every Tempe Diablo Stadium at-bat this spring, he really does, but the Angel veteran is beginning to feel a little self-conscious about it.

"It's nice to know they care about you, but at the same time, it's kind of embarrassing because I'm so much of an attention-getter," Salmon said. "I feel weird about it. We'll be stretching and a big roar will go up, and everyone says, 'What caused that?' Then the guys all look at me and laugh, and I'll apologize.

"But it's great. It's a testament to being around here for a long time and for being a part of some really good things, and I'm thankful for that."
