The Nationals placed catcher Ivan Rodriguez on the disabled list on Monday, meaning he won't be behind the plate when Stephen Strasburg is expected to make his major league debut on June 4th.

Rodriguez left Saturday's game against the Orioles with lower back pain.

Wil Nieves will likely become Washington's primary starting catcher, but the team may look elsewhere for temporary help.
