Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols had a heated exchange with manager Tony La Russa on Friday night. Pujols was left standing at the plate Friday on right fielder Ryan Ludwick's unsuccessful steal attempt. He returned to the dugout and smacked a tray of gum in frustration. La Russa reprimanded Pujols, saying, "That's enough." Pujols responded and the exchange escalated with La Russa telling Pujols at one point, "I (expletive) know how to manage." The incident was downplayed on Saturday. "Part of his greatness is that he cares. It's why he ends up doing well and whatever needs fixing he fixes," La Russa said Saturday.
