Philadelphia wants to make sure Halladay is healthy enough to pitch in October. Halladay has thrown at least 118 pitches in his last four starts, the first time he has done that in his career. "You've got to monitor him," Manuel said. "If he goes into his next outing, 120 to 125 (pitches), that's three times in a row. That definitely could take a toll. He's not used to going 125 pitches every game. "If you get into places where he hasn't been before ... that definitely can have an affect. But he's in tremendous shape and he wants to pitch." |
