Triple-A Buffalo third baseman Mike Hessman leads the minor leagues with 47 RBI heading into Thursday's action. Hessman, who was drafted by the Braves in the 15th round of the 1996 draft, has hit five home runs in his last eight games and 14 overall this season. The 32-year-old is hitting .319/.409/1.125 for the Bison in 39 games this season. His numbers over his last 10 games, .400/.553/1.525 are even more impressive. Hessman has spent parts of three seasons in the majors, but hasn't appeared at the highest level since 2008 when he recorded 27 at-bats for the Tigers, hitting .296. |
