Armando Benitez spent most of his first season with the Giants last year limping around following surgery to reattach two torn hamstring tendons to the pelvis -- and yes, it was as serious as it sounds. "I'm feeling really good," said Benitez, who somehow returned to the mound last August after many thought he was done for the year with the injury. "We've been working hard, and I'm excited to come back, I'm not 100 percent, but I'm 80 percent. Everything is coming together. I'm getting better each day." Benitez tore his hamstring tendons running to cover first base on a grounder by San Diego's Geoff Blum on April 26. |
