White Sox general manager Ken Williams says that hitting coach Greg Walker and pitching coach Don Cooper won't be fired because of the team's slow start. "Well, I flat-out told everyone first because I have a policy (that) no one here has to guess what's on my mind," Williams said. "And the first people who get the benefit of the philosophy are the players and my coaching staff. So I explained to them that I've not had one single conversation in terms of making a change of the managerial position or any other coaching position." Most of Chicago's coaches are in the first year of two-year deals. Williams also said there is a misperception that he and manager Ozzie Guillen don't get along. |
