Arizona's Tony Abreu hit a bloop into short left field in the second inning. Ramirez accidentally booted the ball into the left-field corner, allowing two runners to score and Abreu to end up on third. "I wasn't trying to give up," Ramirez said. "That was the hardest I could go after the ball." He fouled a ball off his shin in the first inning and was seen wearing a bandage on Tuesday morning. "I don't know," Ramirez said Tuesday when asked if he was playing at full speed. "It looked like it. That's the example [Gonzalez] set with me. If you don't hustle, hopefully, he does it with everybody. "It's OK. He doesn't understand that. He never played in the big leagues. That's fine," Ramirez said. "That's the example that he set. It started with me. Let's see how far it goes." Ramirez went on to say that he has lost some respect for Gonzalez, who "can do what he [expletive] wants." |
