Roger Clemens will not begin the 2006 season with any major-league team but will not rule out pitching later in the year.

"Right now, I don't see myself playing (again)," the 43-year-old Clemens, who is pitching for the U.S. in the World Baseball Classic told USA Today in an interview published on Wednesday.

"I'm not going to start the season with anyone," he added. "I made my mind up."

But he would not commit to retiring.

"If I'm sitting in the stands in Boston, or New York, or somewhere in May and get the itch again, who knows what will happen?" he told the newspaper.
