Cubs general manager Jim Hendry says that a better script couldn't have been written for shortstop Starlin Castro on Friday night. Castro hit a three-run home run in his first at-bat and finished the game with a record six RBIs. "It was a great start for the young man, and obviously we needed to get back on track with the bats after a couple of frustrating games in Pittsburgh," Hendry said on "Talking Baseball" on ESPN 1000. "It was good to see. "The kid gave us a spark. We really couldn't have written the script any better than that for the young man. What a special night it must have been for him." |
