Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer made major league history on Friday night when he became the oldest player to throw a shutout.

Philadelphia defeated Atlanta 7-0 at Citizens Bank Park.

Moyer, 47, tossed a two-hitter.

Phil Niekro was the previous oldest at 46 years, 188 days when he tossed a four-hitter for the Yankees against the Blue Jays on Oct. 6, 1986.
