Chicago owes him $6.25 million and the Sun-Times writes that he could certainly be traded by midseason. "I'm sure," Pierzynski said. "Everyone knows my situation, I'm a free agent at the end of the year. But I also know this, if it gets to about June then they can't trade me, so they're going to have to make a decision here pretty quick." He has been in Chicago since before the 2005 season. "I want to be in a place where I can win, but I would love to stay in Chicago," he said. "Up until then I have no say so in the matter, but if they find a move that they think is right and they think it will help the organization, there's nothing I can do. I'll go to a new team and be happy there, so ... I hope it works out here. This is my first choice." |
