The Mets called up first base prospect Ike Davis on Monday and he delivered a single in his first major league at-bat just hours later.

With Jason Bay on first base and one out, Davis hit a single to right.

Davis had never been to Citi Field before he was called up from Triple-A Buffalo.

Davis was the 18th overall pick by the Mets in 2008. He hit for an OPS of .906 with 20 homers in Single-A and Double-A during the 2009 season. He had an OPS of 1.136 during 42 plate appearances in Triple-A to being 2010 before being called up.

He flied out to left in his second at-bat.
