The Mets could soon recall Ike Davis, their first baseman of the future.

New York designated Mike Jacobs for assignment on Sunday, paving the way for Davis.

Davis was New York's first-round draft choice (18th overall) back in 2008.

He is batting .364, with two home runs, in 10 games for Buffalo this season.
