It appears as though veteran pitcher Russ Ortiz has beat out infielder Nick Green for the final roster spot on the Dodgers.

The decision between the two non-roster invitees came down to club officials' desire to begin the season with a 12-man pitching staff.

An official announcement will come at some point on Sunday.

Neither general manager Ned Colletti nor manager Joe Torre would confirm the decision.
