Mets shortstop Jose Reyes has been prescribed rest by doctors until his thyroid levels normalize. Reyes has been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid, and his levels were elevated after he exercised Monday and Tuesday. "Jose is obviously a little bit disappointed that it's going to be a matter of weeks as opposed to days, but it's a completely, treatable, curable situation," said his agent, Peter Greenberg. "I think we all view it as good news." New York general manager Omar Minaya and Greenberg said the thyroid should return to normal with rest and diet. "There is no medication for this," Minaya said.
