The agent for Twins catcher Joe Mauer, Ron Shapiro, arrived at the team's training camp on Wednesday, sources told the Star Tribune.

It's being shaped as Shapiro's yearly visit, but the Twins and the agent are expected to meet regarding an extension for Mauer.

While there have been reports that the framework for a deal is in place, there are indications that progress has slowed recently.
