Astros first baseman Lance Berkman will likely miss Thursday's spring opener after suffering a bruised left knee.

Berkman complained of soreness and swelling in his knee after Monday's workout and an MRI confirmed a contusion.

"I'm not going to rule that out yet," manager Brad Mills said Tuesday. "But I'm going to push back the decision. If I was leaning towards one way or another, it would be that he wouldn't be in the lineup."
