The Rangers are searching for an infielder now that Khalil Greene will not report to spring training.

Greene's agent, Mike Milchin, informed the Rangers on Sunday that Greene was again suffering from social anxiety disorder.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said the club is open to having Greene return, but there is no timetable for that to happen.

"We're going to go forward and plan as though he's not going to be there," Daniels said Monday morning. "I can't tell you if he's going to look to come back and, if so, when. That's not clear right now."

Greene could be placed on the restricted list or the Rangers could void his contract. A decision will be made this week.

"This is an amicable situation," Daniels said. "We're going to work with Mike Milchin and Khalil. The priority here is to get him some time and some privacy to deal with the matter."
