The Braves may sign highly-coveted shortstop prospect Edward Salcedo as soon as he passes a physical.

There was a delay in completing paperwork to get the 18-year-old from his native Dominican Republic to Florida, but the Braves seem confident the process will be completed soon.

Salcedo has been pursued for at least two years by major league teams, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
