The Cardinals weren't the only team willing to give Mark McGwire a chance to return to baseball. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rockies and Mariners have offered McGwire the position of hitting coach since he retired in 2001. Seattle apparently extended the offer in 2003 and the Rockies supposedly did it just a few years ago.
