The Mets are making a "hard push" for free-agent catcher Rod Barajas, sources told FOX Sports.

New York is believed to be looking to sign Barajas to a one-year deal.

Barajas would be the team's primary catcher.

Currently, they'll enter spring training with Henry Blanco, Omir Santos, Chris Coste and Josh Thole at the position.
