The Mets have made the decision not to sign free-agent catcher Rod Barajas.

New York doesn't think Barajas is the answer at catcher.

They will instead throw Omir Santos, Henry Blanco, Chris Coste, Shawn Riggans and Josh Thole into a spring training battle to see what develops.
