Free-agent pitcher John Smoltz isn't close to a decision on where he'll play in 2010, but the New York Times is reporting that he's seeking a contract worth at least $3 million.

The Mets signed Japanese pitcher Hisanori Takahashi, which may take them out of the Smoltz race.
