Kevin Miller has agreed to a one-year, minor-league deal with the Cubs with an invitation to spring training.

Miller will try to earn a bench spot this spring.

"It's been a very slow market as you have seen this offseason," Millar said in an e-mail to ESPN.com, "but things have worked out. I'm excited to have a chance to compete for a spot with the Cubbies. I have a lot of buddies on that team."
