The Dodgers are close to an agreement on a one-year contract with free-agent outfielder Reed Johnson, according to a source.

Johnson would be the fourth outfielder behind Manny Ramirez, Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier.

He will be required to pass a physical examination before the deal becomes official.
