It appears as though, however, that Victorino's recent agreement with Philadelphia could soon spell the end of Werth. "Looking at them on paper," A National League scout said, "they will probably have to choose between (keeping Shane) Victorino and (Jayson) Werth." After announcing the three-year, $22 million agreement with Victorino, general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. discussed the future. "The next question we have is, "Where do we stand with Jayson?' " Amaro Jr. said. "We're going to have to weigh how we want to put the puzzle together. We may have some difficult decisions down the road." Werth will be a free agent after the 2010 season. |
