The Yankees could revisit the idea of re-signing free-agent outfielder Johnny Damon.

New York traded Melky Cabrera to Atlanta in the Javier Vazquez deal, which leaves them open to add another outfielder.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman tossed out the idea of re-signing Damon to a two-year, $16 million deal at the start of the offseason.

However, Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated writes that all the Yankees could give Damon now is probably a one-year deal worth $6 million.

Heyman adds that the Giants, Mariners, Braves or Angels could sign Damon as well.
