The Indians like what they are seeing in Rafael Perez as a starter in winter ball. However, Cleveland isn't ready to make him a starter full-time just yet. "We thought it would be beneficial for him to get some more work," general manager Mark Shapiro said. "We thought it was a good idea for him to extend himself, and [starting] would provide him with the best opportunity to lock in innings and mechanics." Perez has gone 3-0 with a 0.33 ERA for the Gigantes del Cibao.
