Having traded Milton Bradley for Carlos Silva, Chicago might have interest in one of New York's surplus outfielders -- Melky Cabrera or Brett Gardner. According a report on FOX Sports, Cubs general manager Jim Hendry may already be in contact with the Yankees regarding such a deal. "The Cubs have their holes, but one thing they have enough of is starting pitching," one AL executive said. "There's a lot of factors to weigh - Cabrera and Gardner fit a budget - but you could see it being a match." Cabrera and Gardner became somewhat expendable when the Yankees acquired Curtis Granderson from the Tigers earlier this month. |
