The New York Times is reporting that the agent for Jason Bay, Joe Urbon, tried to rekindle talks with the Red Sox even after Boston signed Mike Cameron to play left field.

Talks between the Red Sox and Bay broke off when the outfielder rejected a four-year, $60 million contract offer.

The Mets have offered Bay a four-year deal worth $64 million, but Urbon is pushing for a fifth year.

Many believe that Bay simply doesn't want to play at the cavernous Citi Field.
