Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell will undergo a physical this weekend, according to sources.

If all goes well, Boston and Texas will finalize a trade that will send Lowell to the Rangers for catching prospect Max Ramirez.

Texas is concerned about Lowell's right thumb, which he called a sprained after suffering the injury during the final weekend of the season.
