The Mets have offered free-agent pitcher Kelvim Escobar a minor-league contract, according to a Venezuelan newspaper.

"They are super aggressive," Escobar told the newspaper. "They even made me an offer. It's a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training and incentives in case I make the 25-man roster."

Escobar, 33, has a career record of 101-91.
