The Mets have called the Rangers to ask about starting pitcher Kevin Millwood.

Officials from other teams told the New York Post that Texas is willing to discuss the possibility of trading Millwood.

Millwood is due $12 million in 2010, the final year of his deal, and the Rangers are looking to trim payroll.
