The Cubs, according to team sources, are attempting to acquire Curtis Granderson, but aren't willing to part with top prospect Starlin Castro, a 19-year-old shortstop.
The Cubs would prefer to trade Milton Bradley before committing to Granderson, as his addition would force Kosuke Fukudome to move to right field, Bradley's position.
The Yankees and Angels have also been actively pursuing Granderson.
