The Red Sox would love to acquire Roy Halladay, but a source has downplayed reports of the team's urgency to complete a deal.

A story in the New York Daily News earlier this week suggested that Boston wanted to get a deal done prior to the winter meetings, which begin a week from Monday.

The Red Sox believe that the Blue Jays will take their time in shopping Halladay.
