Agent Scott Boras is expected to find free-agent outfielder Johnny Damon a contract worth at least what Bobby Abreu got from the Angels.
Abreu signed a two-year, $19 million deal to remain in Los Angeles even before he hit the free agent market.
Boras is likely to set Damon's price higher than the baseline Abreu set, which might prevent the Yankees from re-signing the outfielder.
