Phillies starter Cole Hamels raised eyebrows with his comments following the team's Game 3 loss.

Hamels, who struggled in his fourth straight appearance on Saturday night, said: "I can't wait for it to end. "It's been mentally draining. At year's end, you just can't wait for a fresh start."

Philadelphia manager Charlie Manuel said he was shocked by Hamels' comments, especially since the team in competing in the World Series.

"You know what, I was totally surprised at what he said," Manuel told the Philadelphia Daily News. "But at the same time, I understand his frustration and everything."
