Alex Rodriguez wound up with a home run after the first instant replay review in World Series history, and the Yankees beat the Phillies 8-5 on Saturday night for a 2-1 edge, according to an Associated Press report.

Nick Swisher and Hideki Matsui also homered for the Yankees. Jayson Werth connected twice and Carlos Ruiz had one homer for the Phillies.
