ESPN analyst Steve Phillips has been granted a leave of absence from the company after reports surfaced on Wednesday of an extra-marital affair.

The New York Post reported that Phillips had an affair with a 22-year-old production assistant at ESPN.

"I am deeply sorry that I have put my family and colleagues through this. It is a personal matter that I will not comment on further," he said in a statement.
