In the 11th inning on Monday, Joe Girardi decided that Howie Kendrick had a better chance against Dave Robertson than he did against Alfredo Aceves, which triggered a two out pitching change.

?It?s just different stuff against those hitters,? Girardi said, without offering specifics. ?We have all the matchups and all the scouting reports, and we felt that it was a better matchup for us.?

?We always seem to make mistakes against him,? Dave Eiland said of Kendrick. ?Ace had him where he wanted. He just couldn?t make a pitch to put him away.?
