Ken Davidoff of Newsday is reporting that Matt Holliday very much wants to play in New York.

Holliday will be a highly-coveted free agent this winter.

While the Cardinals will try hard to keep him, the Yankees and Mets, in that order, are believed to be Holliday's preferences.
